Thank you for checking out episode 36 of The Film Scribes Podcast. This week Rich Heimlich (/comment), Stephen Silver (Splice Today, Philly Voice) and Dan Tabor (Phawker, Cinapse.co) chat with Ike Barinholtz Writer/Director and star of the black comedy THE OATH about a fictional loyalty oath all citizens must sign before Black Friday. The film focuses on Chris (Ike Barinholtz), a liberal who refuses to sign the oath and won’t let his family forget it, when they come to say with his family on Thanksgiving. What begins as a rousing political satire, gets dark quickly when a fictional branch of Homeland Security shows up to ask Chris about a report he was keeping people from signing the oath.
As always any feedback or questions can be sent to Filmscribes@philafcc.org to be discussed on a future show.
